This is a short introduction to our hockey club. For starters, you may wonder what BBHC stands for. Ask an old Bexleyheath player, it’s “Bexleyheath and Belvedere Hockey Club”. Ask an old Belvedere player and it’s “Belvedere and Bexleyheath Hockey Club”. Whichever, after the merger of the two clubs several seasons ago, we are now BBHC.
We are a England Hockey ClubsFirst accredited club based in the London Borough of Bexley. We were formed in 1997 from the merger of Bexleyheath Hockey Club (founded in 1923) and Belvedere Hockey Club (founded in 1921).
Bexleyheath Sports Club is our clubhouse and we use artificial pitches in Erith, Belvedere and Welling. You will more than likely find one of our teams in navy blue shirts with white trim at these pitches every Saturday during the season.
We have six mens’ teams, one of which is a veterans’ side and three ladies’ teams. We also have a Colt’s section for both boys and girls. There is regular training for all sections of the club.
On the social side, we have regular social evenings and spend many a Saturday night at the club socialising!! There is an end of season dinner and various tournaments and tours to take part in.
