BBHC 2005/06
End of Season Dinner & Awards
Saturday the 1st of April, the highlight in the BBHC social calendar for the
2005-2006 season. The red carpet was rolled out for the prestigious awards
ceremony at Bexleyheath Sport's Club. After the stars of BBHC had fought their
way past the awaiting paparazzi they entered the main function full of fellow
athletes dressed up for the occasion.
As pleasantries were swapped between the superstars of the English hockey leagues , the serious business began, DRINKING!
Before too many people were too intoxicated , everyone were ushered to their seats for the culinary delights of the prawn cocktail or cheese and leek tart starter followed by the main course of sausage and mash (or chicken chausser) washed down with the obligatory alcoholic beverage. Thanks goes to the kitchen staff for the fantastic effort for the food and to the attractive waitresses for putting up with a room full of drunk hockey players.
Finally after the food was finished and glasses again topped up the host for the evening Paul Harvey took centre stage (well for the men anyway) and announced the awards.

the celebrations continued to the early hours of the morning.

Arundel Castle
10k Run 2005 - A belated Thank you
A big belated thank you to everyone who participated in the Arundel 10K run
back in August (Chloe, Georgina, Ben, Jamie and Pingu ... ohh and me) and also
a big thank you to everyone who sponsored us. In total we collected £946.00,
of which 50% was donated to the Greenwich & Bexley Hospice and 50% will
go to developing hockey within our club.
Arundel was a spectacular setting for this event and the run was ....... hummm ...... hilly, but very picturesque. We all really enjoyed the day and even the 10K run part (well that is what they told me anyway). Thanks again to everyone ..... but watch this space. I will be arranging a similar event next year and this time I will give you all plenty of notice, so no excuses.
Peter

Sunday 28th August 2005
- Arundel Castle 10k Run
Do you fancy ..................
- Raising money for the Club?
- Raising money for a local Hospice?
- Raising your fitness for the coming season......?
Then come and join me in the Arundel Castle 10k (fun!) run on Sunday 28th August. The run is open to anyone, so you do not need to be any particular standard.
I am organising for sponsorship forms to be printed and have the entry forms, so all I need now is to know who would be willing to take part !!!! Half of the money that we raise will go to the club and the other half will be donated to The Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice. It only costs £6 to enter and it is supposed to be a very picturesque run.
If anyone is interested in running or making an early donation
please let me know by sending me an e-mail to
.
Cheers,
Peter

Club AGM
This year’s AGM will be held at BHSC on 24th April 2003 at 8pm prompt, it
would be nice if we could get at least 50% of the membership to attend.
There will
be a lot happening to the section over the years ahead and it would be good
to get some input from the membership as to which direction you believe
that we
should be going. I hope to see you all in April.
